LEGO Friends - High Resolution images of the 41035 Juice Bar

Just the fact that I live in Miami makes me look pretty meticulously at the Friends line. Even though I still stand without a single Friends set, I have already gotten a hold of pieces in Bright and dark Pink, Magenta, Medium Azure, and Medium Lavender.

Just revealed and listed on Walmart's site is the 41035 Juice Bar. Just like the Heartlake City High, and I believe one or two other buildings, it is a set that I am looking at purchasing because it has just enough good pieces to offset the surplus of others.



Features that add punch to this set (no pun intended) include:
  • Flame Yellowish Orange basic brick; these parts are on my considerations list for future bulk, and as such since there isn't so many on this set or any set for that matter, I'll still do it but it's still at a noteworthy quantity in this set. The hue below it is classic orange which is welcome as well.
  • Light (Cool) Yellow Baseplates - Two "Art Deco Curve Plates" and what look like a 8x16 and 16x16 plate are in this set. 
  • Accessories. Printed Mini Head for a Pineapple, new inverted dishes for seats (hmm... thinking of arranging some for toilet seats...) and various fruit and smoothie accessories. Also a metallic silver dome ornament, which is seen in gold in the new 41042.
  • Incredibly clever use of the 4x6 with 12 studs plate, wrapping each fruit tile around. Some people abhor this but I'm cool with it, the tiles are stickered and not printed.
  • Quarter dome elements in Lime. Great awnings for Miami buildings
  • It's not all about the parts. Yes parents I am now communicating with you. Ample playability in this set including the drink making, serving, and enjoying. Don't forget the ordering with them 100 dollar bills!!!
  • Detail like one would not easily find in a city set. It can fit in a city too, that's what's even great about it. It's not "Barbiefied". 
This set should come up to $30-40 in the United States, with under 300 pieces.

It sounds like the once-stubborn Shortline by the Shoreline finally listened to the pleas of its folks and fans and broke down about 55 million buckaroos to get some clean locomotives. REBRAND!

It's been four years since I used this platform. The rails are rusty on my blogosphere, but I feel that it is time to put some shine and share my perspectives in the model railroading, railfanning, aviation, and LEGO hobbies.  A lot has changed. I have taken up model railroading more seriously than in the past. My railfanning has expanded greatly. The recent pandemic has encouraged me to go out and document local railroading with a vengeance, like never before. With that, there are certain aspects picked up that will be reflected through an in-progress model train layout and shared on this outlet. Sit back and enjoy. There is certainly more to come.

The "Model Train of the Year"... or something like that...

Time Magazine has its Person of the Year, therefore we shall have the Model Train of the Year. Their choice of PotY is always characteristic of that person's impact on the year's events. In 2023, the choice was surely clear. For us, when evaluating the various model railroad projects I've taken on at my leisure, the choice couldn't be clearer.  Since 2019, ECHOES, the East Coast HO Exhibitors Society, has displayed at Pinecrest Gardens on a new, sweet, extended arrangement for their holiday-themed Nights of Lights festival. Gone was the short opening weekend stint that usually happened on the second weekend of December. Our display time and scope swelled up like a sweet tooth only would during the Holidays into a three week affair. The two end-loops with five lucky 2'x4' modules turned into a much more appreciable fraction of our maximum possible footprint.
