Pictures have been widely available as of late for the South Florida Mega Route's FEC installments; but now it's time for a sound element to be added! Here's video of 109 finishing up some of its last miles into Miami.

The Florida East Coast Railway has just announced that it will purchase twenty-four GE ES44C4s from General Electric Transportation . It sounds like the once-stubborn Shortline by the Shoreline finally listened to the pleas of its folks and fans and broke down about 55 million buckaroos to get some clean locomotives. The ES44C4s have different traction mechanisms than the popular ES44AH. This follows semi-official word from Jan 15 that the purchase was to be green-lighted. Many folks are had upset that the railroad is no longer a virgin to GE, and are puzzled that they are getting more engines than they need. Three Weeks Left

It is the habit of people to chant the amount of time left to the next break. It shows up a lot everywhere, especially on Facebook. Well, I guess it fits to speak of it now, writing from the hind end of the big Thanksgiving weekend. But maybe the big idea everyone is forgetting is that one will not live forever. It may be before long that one sees the heavens that determine our afterlife. My friend has an album (long term memory speaking) called "hay que disfrutar la vida" (Spanish for " You have to enjoy life ") and that title has been hitting me throughout the course of my High school years. Yes, it is torture sometimes to have to do college level work, but these years are supposed to be the most entertaining. Hell, I am among a family, a large one at that. Not Much Has Changed, Really...

Holy cow, has it really been a year and a half since I last touched this blog? Time flies! I am happy to announce my triumphant return to the blogosphere. I feel this that this has always been the perfect forum to communicate my thoughts and the state of the railfanning and model railroading hobby, as I see fit. And lots more is to come as I continue to rebuild my network here and on my YouTube channel. I have done a lot of experimenting on Blogger over the years - separate Trainz and Model Train blogs, LEGO blogs, etc... but it is only appropriate that I return with a keen focus on ONE blog, and rightfully, I will choose the blog that is URLed to my online screen name, brickbuilder711. Personally, I've experienced a few changes since my last blog entry here, December 2014: New camcorder, new railroading interests, and a return to HO scale model railroading.
