LEGO: Aargh, Maties! Maersk Parts Pack I MEAN Triple E is out

Set #10241, the Maersk Triple E, is officially released as of January 1, 2014 and, as part of the online listing, its parts list is officially out.

Needless to say, this set is known to boast a number of Md Azure and Dark Red elements, the most remarkable being MdAzure. While it is sad that it's phasing Pastel Blue out, I prefer to have MdAzure on hand as it's a stronger color. Plus, it is the color of choice for my coming Tri-Rail series.

With all of that said, several of the pieces in MdAzure are making their deep-sea debut.

Included are:
  • Part #3004 / 6004945 - Brick 1x2
This piece is great as it complements the existing 1x1, 1x4, and 1x6 molds. It should also benefit my Tri-Rail sets.
  • Part # 2357 / 6052877 - Corner Brick 2x2
Similar to the old Maersk Sealand ships, this part is making a reappearance, probably best suited for the bow of the ship. It's nice to have more variety with the brick and this part is best suited for buildings.
  •  Part # 47404 / 6052787 - Stern piece 12x10
My least favorite, but is the juniorized bow of the ship. I would've loved to see the brick built assembly in 10152/10155.
  •  Part # 11153 / 6052823 - Bow 1x4 curved
A nice curve, it adds to the family of available slope and bow pieces.
  • Part # 3665 / 6052795 - Slope Inverted 1x2
About time an invert comes in in this color, to complement the other 1x2 slope. For my benefit, my TRCX sets will really need this color, especially in the engine if I recall correctly.

If you scroll down the list, a few dark red elements are also firsts, which is amazing for a 14 year old color. Some are making longtime returns as well, evident in the new 7 digit numbers. The brown fence is also new to this set, even though for me I don't see much with it.

Sand Blue is also coming in strong with the resurrection of the 2x4 brick and plate and the introduction of the tile.

In the black color, the 2x2 brick with grooves is new. Seen in the past in dark gray, it is new to the year in black and is also included in a movie set.

Aside from the parts, this looks to be a great display piece. I'll hopefully be seeking a copy for review and of course prowl bricklink for pieces for my projects.
